Contract review for devices
About
Autotask associates devices with contracts that allow you to bill for Managed Services. Devices that are not associated with a contract are not generating any revenue for your company, causing you to lose money.
Identifying new devices where contract information is missing is therefore important, and the Reviewed for Contract check box is designed to facilitate just that.
- Devices that are associated with a contract are automatically set to checked. Since they have a contract, we assume the contract situation has been reviewed.
- New devices and devices created by Datto BCDR, Datto Network Manager, or Datto RMM have Reviewed for Contract cleared. The contract review status is available as a filter in searches and dashboard widgets such as this one on the Datto RMM Devices dashboard tab. This allows you to easily identify any devices that have not been reviewed.

Devices created from Datto RMM or Datto BCDR devices can be mapped to a contract on the Device Mapping page.

On the New/Edit Device pages, you can manually assign a contract (and for Recurring Services contracts, a Service or Bundle) to a device. When you complete the Contract and Service or Bundle fields, the Reviewed for Contract field becomes checked and disabled automatically.
If you don't want to assign a contract, you can manually select the Reviewed for Contract check box.
- On the New/Edit Device page, and on any device, right-click or context menu select Set as Reviewed - No Contract.
NOTE If the contract is removed from the device, the check box will remain selected but it will now be enabled.
