Executing a LiveLink
Once a LiveLink has been published to one or more resources, the LiveLink control is available in the Autotask UI for the users it has been published to.
Launching (executing) a LiveLink
Click a LiveLink control to launch the application or web site the LiveLink is designed to execute. If the destination site requires authentication, a log in page will open.
Where to find LiveLinks
LiveLinks that are not tied to an entity
All LiveLinks not associated with an entity like an organization or ticket are available in the main LiveLinks menu. Hover over the LiveLink icon on the top right of your Autotask screen to open the menu.
If no LiveLinks are published to you, you will see "No LiveLinks Available".
LiveLinks that are tied to an entity
LiveLinks associated with an Autotask entity do not appear in the main LiveLink menu. Instead, they appear within the application on a page or menu associated with the entity, for example, an organization or ticket search result. The control location is set on the Configuration tab of the LiveLinks Designer. If the location is on a page, for example, the Organization or Edit Ticket page, the control is in a LiveLink drop-down menu. If the LiveLink is published to a search results or some other table, it will appear in the right-click menu.
Autotask users should add Autotask as a Trusted Site for your Browser. If you do not, you need to do this before executing any LiveLinks (refer to Browser settings for details).
LiveLinks Administrators also need to make www.autotaskextend.com a trusted site. Many pages will not size correctly if these sites are not trusted sites, and some functionality will not be available.
